Press Release

ANNOUNCING THE RETURN OF THE SJC JUBILEE

Enjoy Live Local Music and Support the Social Justice Center

Madison, WI, June 2022 – The Social Justice Center invites you to the SJC Jubilee on Saturday, June 25 from 5pm-9pm. We are so excited to be hosting this celebration in-person once again, with the festivities taking place outdoors in the SJC’s parking lot off of Few Street.  We’ll be selling local beer and beverages and providing food for free. This year’s lineup of local musicians includes (in alphabetical order) Able Baker, DJ Hanna, the Scratch-Offs and William Z. Villain. There will also be a raffle for items and gift cards donated by local businesses (winners do NOT need to be present to win).

The annual celebration will showcase the everyday activities of the Center, pay tribute to its venerable 20-year history, and joyfully return to its outdoor location following two years of festivities in a virtual format. The first SJC Jubilee in 2019 was named after the historic jubilees where debt was canceled in a celebratory fashion and it is the Social Justice Center’s biggest fundraising event of the year. All proceeds will go towards keeping the Center’s incredible building in good condition to better serve our 14 member organizations and to facilitate the Center’s collaborative projects including the Willy Street Pantry and fiscal sponsorship of projects like Free the 350 Bail Fund and In Pursuit of Justice.

Help the SJC make the Jubilee a success! Make a donation online at bit.ly/sjcjubilee22 or get your raffle tickets at bit.ly/Jubilee22Raffle – save the date, and show your support in-person! Businesses and organizations can sponsor the event or donate raffle prizes. To do so, contact Annie Kraus at annie@socialjusticecenter.org or 608-227-0206.
